Coronavirus Information

Updated March 31, 2020

3/31/2020: Essential Services Only

For the safety of our staff and clients, we are limiting appointments to essential services. We are not currently scheduling routine toenail trims or other non-essential grooming visits at this time. This policy will remain in effect until the COVID-19 threat is under control. Thank you for understanding and stay safe!

3/19/2020: Policy Updates

As the advice and recommendations from the CDC and the government continue to evolve and change in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we must also continue to change and respond in order to meet the needs of our patients as well as protect members of our staff and community. Therefore, effective immediately we will no longer be allowing clients into the hospital.

For the forseeable future we will be conducting drop off appointments or curbside appointments for you pet. Please call our front office when you arrive for your appointment and please stay in your car. A staff member will be out to get a history and directions from you as to what is being requested for the visit.

The staff member will take your pet into the hospital and into an exam room and the physical exam will be conducted immediately. We will call you with the physical exam findings and go over an estimate if you wish. We will then perform the necessary tests, diagnostics and/or vaccines as well as prescribe any needed medications or preventatives. A staff member will then go back out to the car and collect your form of payment and then bring your pet out to you.

We are sorry if this causes any undue stress or anxiety. That is not our intent. Our goal is to continue to serve the community and to treat our neighborhood pets' and clients' needs while also trying our best to maintain a high level of safety and security against the coronavirus.

If you have any questions please call us at 412-761-9149. Thank you!

3/15/20: Letter from Dr. Ann Cirillo

Dear Pet Parents,

We want to assure you that we are taking every precaution with the recent coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), and will continue to do so for as long as necessary.

We love your pets and will continue to provide the exceptional care they need and deserve. Every day we routinely use sterilization solutions effective in killing coronavirus as well as other pathogens to keep our areas clean and sanitary. We will continue to do this as well as making sure common areas such as door knobs, chairs, keyboards, and other frequently “touched” areas are routinely sanitized.

There is no evidence at this time that companion animals or pets can be infected by COVID-19. We will stay up to date through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, the American Veterinary Medical Association and other public health agencies in order to protect you and your families while remaining open to take care of your pets. In-clinic appointments are still being scheduled and seen as usual however we have implemented a few additional precautions for the safety of our pet parents and their families:

  • No handshakes or other physical contact.
  • We are offering drop off appointments for our patients, and can discuss recommendations over the phone.
  • Pet Parents are welcome to wait outside or in their cars for short procedures such as blood draws and nail trims if they choose.
  • House call appointments are being limited to a case by case basis.
